Current projects
Haven’t updated in awhile. So whilst I’m waiting for the paint to dry, I thought I’d post a bit of where I’m up to.
Have been listening to alot of Chopin lately.
I’m working on two painting projects at the moment that are dealing with memory.
The first is a large drawing/painting of a landscape panorama that spans 10 m across and over 2 m in height.
It took a couple of hours and a lot of juggling, but the canvas finally went up. Ended up using the entire roll.
Have started to lay down the initial drawing and washes. Painting can be a bit like chasing something ephemeral. When I get closer to pinning it down, I’ll post colour shots and maybe of them all pieced together. But for now…
The second project is a large circular memory mind map painted on wooden panels.
My wood arrived before xmas.
Which meant alot of priming and sanding before xmas.
And post new year now lots of painting.
I’m sourcing images from my own collection, the internet and any that friends are willing to give me. Only problem now is that I’ve realised is I don’t have enough panels. I have over 25 of varying sizes but require more to be cut.
This is where I’m wishing for a patron or some grant to help me along. It might be a case of eating maccas this month to get more wood to realise this idea.
